The Vestry is the governing and decision-making body of the church, consisting of the rector and elected lay representatives. Its duties include calling the rector, approving the budget, making policy, and approving expenditures.
We have both a senior and junior warden, elected from among members of the vestry by the vestry itself. The membership of the current Vestry can be found here.

The Altar Guild is a parish group organized for the purpose of preparing the altar for worship at the eucharist, weddings, funerals and other ceremonies. They set up for each service and make sure the altar vessels are cleaned and maintained. If interested, please talk to Frances Callaghan.

Ushers help ensure a smoothly run church service and minister to people in a variety of practical ways. The specific responsibilities include greeting people as they arrive for the service, assisting people with special needs, and collecting the offering and assist in communion. If interested, please talk to our head usher, Rob McArdle.

Volunteers (youth and adults) lead the procession into and out of worship by carrying the cross, collect offerings from the ushers, and assist the celebrant during worship.

Readers read the Old Testament lesson and the Psalm during services. They may also be asked to share the Prayers of the People. If interested in being a reader, please contact the office.

This joint committee with our sister church, St. Mary’s Whitechapel, works with the Rector to plan worship services. Members include Jane Dunaway, Frances Callaghan, Connie Horne and Anne Clewell.

After church each Sunday, we host Coffee time in order to catch up with what is happening in each others lives. Additionally, we have special events through the year such as Yard Sales, the Ham & Oyster Dinner, Southern Grace Concert and Community Dinners.

The Scholarship team manages the process solicit and select candidates for the Hammack-Hayden Scholarship. Please contact Jane Dunaway for more information.

The Finance Committee tasks with reviewing the current financial status and make recommendations to the Vestry. Additionally, they review current policies and procedures and determine how to to streamline and improve them. Members include Pat Straw, David Alga, Gary Bradley, Dave Whitlow and Liza Hearns.
