Upper Lancaster County Food Pantry
On the second Thursday of each month, the Pavilion at Trinity is transformed into a Food Pantry where we provide fresh produce, frozen meat, and general groceries for over 100 local families.
The Food Pantry is powered by volunteers who begin to gather around 10 am to prepare to unload the food delivery truck and prepare the food for distribution.
At 1 p.m. we open the doors for our clients and load the cars with the groceries. By 4 p.m. we close the doors after a successful day of helping our neighbors.

If you are in need, we can provide help. If you receive federal services such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), SSDI, TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) and Medicaid, you are automatically qualified. But even if not, you can come by and one of our volunteers will enroll anyone in need. The only qualifier used for eligibility is household income. Nearly half of our clients are senior citizens who are not eligible for government assistance programs. There are several other food pantry programs on the Northern Neck, however, clients are only eligible for one pantry visit per month. Need to know more, call us at 804-462-5908 or send us an email.

On the second Thursday of each month, we need volunteers to direct traffic, unload the food truck, sort and package food for distribution, and load client cars.
If you are interested in volunteering, send an email to us.
The Upper Lancaster County Food Pantry (ULCFP) was founded by and is supported by Trinity and St. Mary’s Whitechapel, Corrotoman Baptist, Queen Esther Baptist and Hartswell Baptist Churches through regular monthly financial support and volunteers. Additionally, both Bethel and Emmanuel United Methodist Churches provide financial and volunteer support on a regular, but less formal basis, as do several community groups and caring individuals.
ULCFP is a USDA food pantry. Becoming a USDA pantry reduced our food costs nearly 40%, and as a result, we have been purchasing/distributing more meat and fresh produce to our clients. Not only is this healthier, but it helps to maintain a consistent amount of food given to each family each month. The need for food amongst our neighbors remains great. Many of our supporting churches have designated the first Sunday of each month for outreach. The food collected on these Sundays has been very helpful for providing additional dry goods to our families. Food items such as peanut butter, canned tuna, corn or green beans are always welcome.
The ULCFP is fortunate to have about 30 faithful volunteers who show up each month to receive, organize and distribute the food. Many of these folks have been with us since the doors first opened in 2014. Many of our volunteers are also clients. This wonderful group of people work tirelessly each month, sharing stories while packing boxes and bags. Trinity Pavilion is filled with enthusiastic voices and laughter as we pray and serve together.
